"Free" Electronics
From time to time our partners have promotional programs where products are simply given away to program participants as a disproportionate reward for some activity (i.e. giving them product feedback, answer a survey, comparison testing two products, engaging a trial offer, etc, etc..). For some programs, at the end of the activity, the products are yours to keep.
This can be a good deal for the right person. It certainly doesn't cost anything to investigate. If we think it could be a good deal, we place it on our page here. This doesn't mean you should substitute your good judgement with ours. We always recommend reading the program details to determine if it fits your needs. If it does, then participate. If not, then by all means, move on. To participate in a program you simply sign-up and follow directions.
Just to be clear. The program providers do want something from you, so "free" is actually quasi-free. This means there may be some sort of time cost or small shipping costs, etc.. (it really depends on the program). The idea is that you get a great winfall in value for your participation. In our socio-economic system there really is no such thing as a "free lunch", BUT there are opportunities where you can be part of a win-win program that produces benefits for you.
Even if you find you don't particularly like the item, many participants flip (that is sell) their products (sometimes close to full retail) for cash on EBAY or other auction/marketing site. It can be a profitable use of free time.
The bottom line is, you should be getting more value from the deal than you put in. The more value, the better. Again, use your judgement and engage only the programs that suit YOUR objectives.
This promotion could take some of the financial pressure off of Christmas shopping this year!
A great way to stay in touch over the holidays or check off two presents from your shopping list without having buy them.
Silly survey below, but keep your eyes on the Ipod prize.
Again, there are no free lunches, but this could help a strained Christmas shopping budget!
